SCHOOL LIFE

SIXTH FORM AND BEYOND

Each year we receive a significant new entry into our Sixth Form. It is a considerable vote of confidence that many young people opt in this way for our approach to education and life.

Academically, the pupils are able to concentrate on the subjects that really interest them; they have more choice and more freedom. With these privileges, however, come responsibilities. We expect a lot of our Sixth Formers. Many will be selected for specific prefectorial duties, but all Sixth Formers act as role models for younger pupils with a significant, informal role to play as part of the School's mentoring structures.

Most Sixth Formers respond well to the challenges facing them, although some find they are not quite ready for this period of their lives. Whatever the case, all Sixth Formers find that the supportive environment at King's will allow them the occasional lapse as they adjust to the new demands made upon them. We believe that mistakes are an important part of the educational process and that it is our responsibility to help pupils learn from them.
